Dr. Emily Miller is an Ohio native who grew up in Austinburg on her family farm. She and her twin sister have shown and raised Quarter Horses for over 20 years. Her love of horses lead her to a career in equine veterinary medicine. She attended Lake Erie College for her undergraduate studies. After graduating Summa Cum Laude in 2000, she entered the Ohio State University College of Medicine.
While in veterinary school, Emily was involved in the student chapter of the American Association of Equine Practitioners, OTS Veterinary Fraternity, Christian Veterinary Fellowship, and intramural sports. She was blessed with excellent mentors from the beginning of her career. Working with Dr. Ronald Genovese and Dr. Brett Berthold has provided her with a strong foundation. After graduating in 2004, Dr. Miller became an associate with Berthold Equine Veterinary Services and later the Cleveland Equine Clinic.
Dr. Miller has a variety of interests within equine veterinary medicine. She enjoys sport horse medicine, reproduction, neonatal care and geriatrics. She is currently President of the Northeast Ohio Equine Practitioners Association, a member of the American Association of Equine Practitioners, Ohio Veterinary Medical Association and the American Veterinary Association.
Dr. Miller resides in Saybrook with her husband, Darren Otero. They enjoy living on Lake Erie and try to find time for water skiing, boating and kayaking. She and her family continue to compete on the Quarter Horse show circuit.
